Lenovo Phab2 Pro is the world’s first Google Project Tango smartphone.

Lenovo released its Phab2 Pro smartphone at its Tech World event held on June 9 in San Francisco. Phab2 Pro becomes the first smartphone to come with Google's Project Tango.

The device runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC customized specifically for Tango apps, according to Lenovo Shop official website. Besides running on Android Marshmallow 6.0, Phab2 Pro sports 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 126GB via a microSD.

The Lenovo Phab2 Pro is a seam-busting smartphone that will test the limits of the user's pocket. The device is 7 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide, which is 18 percent taller and 17 percent wider than Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Its massive 6.4-inch QHD 1140 by 2560 screen gives users 15 percent more real estate than the enormous Nexus 6, Gizmag noted.

Furthermore, the phablet comes with aluminum unibody of 8.9mm, weight 9.1 ounces, has a 2.5D curved glass, and a fingerprint scanner at the back. The device comes with a 4050mAh turbo battery with 18 hours of talk time.

More features of the Phab2 Pro include dual SIM slots, a 16MP main camera with a depth sensor, Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 sound, motion-tracking and fish-eye camera, in addition to an 8MP front camera. The smartphone will be available in two color variants - Gunmetal Grey and Champagne Gold.

With regard to Google's project Tango, this is the company's augmented reality (AR) technology with a set of software and 3D sensors. The features can detect and map the surrounding to allow for augmented reality.

As a result, Lenovo Phab2 Pro comes with Tango's sensors that enable it to sense space, surrounding objects, determine depth via depth perception, motion tracking, and area learning. Users should hold up the phone and they will see virtual objects on the screen in AR.

Lenovo Phab2 Pro as well has Tango's AR gaming and utility applications, approximately 25 augmented reality apps at the time of release and 100 by the end of next year. The apps include Lowe's Home Improvement app that allows users to see how an item would be like in the room before buying.

Lenovo Phab2 Pro will be available in August at a starting price of $499. Here is footage for more information:
