Project Scorpio is expected to be launched by holiday of 2017.

The upcoming console of Microsoft, dubbed as Project Scorpio, is said to be more powerful than the Xbox One. Microsoft gaming boss Phil Spencer said the new console will be four and a half times powerful than the existing Xbox One. Game developers also have commented with the announcement of the new console.

In his interview during the E3 event, Spencer revealed the new console will be utilizing six teraflops that will change the games and the way players will be playing them. He also talked about how the existing games will run through the console and that it is expected there will be an appearance of new games which will only be exclusive for Project Scorpio playing, Game Spot reported.

The report added that according to Spencer, the previous games which use dynamic scaling will be able to run better than their Xbox One counterpart. Spencer also revealed that Microsoft considered releasing a more powerful Xbox One in the past but did not push through with the idea. He said the company wanted to wait until they are sure they would be able to produce a console that can deliver six teraflops.

Game developers have become excited with the announcement of the new console. "Dead Rising 3" executive producer Bryce Cochrane, said they are very excited for Project Scorpio since they have also been one of Microsoft's long-time partner. He further said they are already anticipating the power that Scorpio can deliver especially that they have been featuring thousands of zombies on screen with their game, Games Radar reported.

On the other hand, "ReCore" Project Lead Keiji Inafune said that Microsoft was able to come up with an "attractive piece" especially that it will be able to deliver 4K resolution. He added that players have been yearning for this kind of quality and that the tech-giant was able to create something that can deliver content to consumers by exploring different opportunities.

For his part, "Destiny" Art Director Chris Barrett said the console may be "cool," because he did not have much time to check it out when it was announced. It is expected the gaming console will be available in the market by the end of 2017.
