"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is a survival horror video game developed by Capcom for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

"Resident Evil 7," which was recently revealed at E3 2016, will reportedly come with the same universe as that of its predecessor. The latest entry in the well-liked "Resident Evil" series will also bear a new protagonist, shifting from a third-person view to a first-person point of view (POV).

According to Gear Nuke, "Resident Evil 7" will be merely a reboot set within the creation of the previous sequels. It will follow the events of "Resident Evil 6," which was released back in 2012, although the classic characters of the franchise will be absent.

The main characters will include a new cast of normal humans, who will not possess superhuman abilities like before. The changes in the style of the gameplay and design will separate the game from other "Resident Evil" games of the past.

The development team is reportedly taking the first "Resident Evil" as a heavy reflection of its sense of mystery and modes of discovering the story itself. "Resident Evil 7" will also be entirely playable in PlayStation VR though its development did not begin as a virtual reality franchise.

In an interview with Polygon, Masachika Kawata, the former producer of "Resident Evil: Revelations," and now the fresh producer of the game, said that "Resident Evil 7" development team consists of close to 120 people. There are also other legendary game developers like Jun Takeuchi and Koushi Nakanishi in the directing team.

According to Capcom, the game was planned in a first-person perspective. It will also remove many action elements like the ones in "Resident Evil 5," shifting into the horror genre. Kawata had confirmed in a Capcom stream that quick-time events will not get featured in the seventh installation as well.

However, there will be more enemy encounters involving impact, together with a new threat apart from Zombies. What is more, "Resident Evil 7" will have classic herbs which will help with health recovery. This feature is believed to be one of the aspects that the "Resident Evil" development team is using to uphold the franchise's familiarity.

"Resident Evil 7" is, presently, confirmed for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and set to launch on Jan. 24, 2017.
