Since this Saturday’s fan meet is the last of the China leg of Song Joong-ki’s Asian tour, fans of the “Descendants of the Sun” actor who failed to watch the shows in other Chinese cities really made sure to buy tickets early.

As a result, as soon as the ticket purchasing system for the June 25 Taiwan fan meet went online, the website was deluged with offers to buy tickets. Within minutes, all tickets were sold out. However, this situation opened the door for opportunists to take advantage of the situation.

Taiwan’s Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) reported that a number of scammers are selling tickets at N$6,000. According to China Post, some fans were defrauded, such as a female Taoyuan high school student and Lee, a Taipei woman, who agreed to wire NT$6,000 each to a contact they found online when they searched for alternative sources of tickets to the fan meet.

The CIB said the fraudsters have been conning fans as early as the last week of May before the ticket were sold online. There are at least a dozen victims.

According to eventful’s website, the Taiwan fan meet would be held at the National Taiwan University Sports Center in Da’an District, Taipei. Viagogo is handling ticket sales.

According to Viagogo, so far, there are still 18 tickets let for Seating Price Level 1 and 28 for Level 2. Ticket prices starts from NT$5,211. The sports center has only 4,200 seats. The center is Taiwan’s most popular concert venue.

It is not Song Joong-ki’s first fan meet in Taiwan. He had held one before in 2012.
