PlayStation 4 users seem to be getting all the bad luck with Fallout 4 mods as Bethesda is still having problems delivering them on the console compared to the Xbox One.

Modders who wish to bring their Fallout 4 mods onto the consoles will also need to link their Steam account first for verification. This is to help the original modders protect their work from unauthorized uploading on the console versions.

By itself, the post-apocalyptic RPG adventure title from Bethesda already packs a lot. However, the engine and the developer's open-mindedness towards mods have led to an active community even in the previous titles, including Skyrim.

Bethesda has already launched the latest Creation Kit Update to bring the PlayStation 4 Fallout 4 mod support but the developers have admitted that there were still some problems, Eurogamer has learned. One of which is the texture support problem.

PC textures were used for the mods which causes complications with the PS4. The developer has announced that they were already cooperating with Sony for a future patch including one for the unsupported sound files from the ported PC mods.

Another big problem was the Fallout 4 mods storage limit on the PlayStation 4. The cap is only 900MB which is less than 50 percent of the 2GB limit for Microsoft's Xbox One. It would seem that the problem is with Sony's side as Bethesda said they are working with the company to increase the mod storage cap.

Previously, the Far Harbor DLC also had problems with the PS4. The foggy parts of the extension led to undesirable framerates which ran just fine on PCs.

Bethesda is also requiring users to link their Steam account before uploading their Fallout 4 mods for consoles, Polygon reported. Initially, there were many mods that were ported to the console even without the knowledge or consent of the original modder.

Now, modders can file their complaints under DMCA if they found out that their mod has been stolen. There are a lot of mods available and some people think stealing them is okay because they are not exactly stealing from the game itself.

Fallout 4 console mods are now available through Bethesda and other third-party sites. To support the modders, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players should download them from the official channels only.
