With "Justice League," Zack Synder and Ben Affleck are trying hard to bring back life and recognition to the DC franchise after the criticism that they had to face at the time of the release of the "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice."
"Justice League," which is scheduled to open in November 2016, is currently being filmed at Leavesden Studios, located outside London. On June 17, Friday, Synder showed a scene from the movie to a group of journalists, Gizmodo reported.
As he wrapped up for the week, the director made an attempt to demonstrate what the team has been working on so far. The clip, shot only a day earlier, showed Bruce Wayne (Affleck) recruiting Barry (Ezra Miller), who has not yet been declared as The Flash. Barry is supposed to join Bruce Wayne to form what will be known as the "Justice League."
Synder's recent action to call all journalists and show what the team is up to was not just for the sake of "Justice League," but was also an attempt to show that the franchise is trying to overcome the hostile reaction to their previously released movie, "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," which made over $870 million worldwide.
While the figures may seem huge, the reaction from the critics remained worst. Moreover, a drop in the box office was observed week-after-week, indicating that the franchise fans did not really like what they were made to see on screen.
Amidst reports of reshoots planned for "Suicide Squad," the "Justice League" team just wants to make sure that one thing is clear to all - the forthcoming movies of the franchise will not be as doomed as the "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. While Affleck described "Justice League" as a totally different movie from the last one, Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot described it as funny and different.
As for the plot of the movie, "Justice League" will begin with a history lesson depicting three ancient civilizations - Amazonians, Atlanteans and humans. Each tribe has a charge of an alien artifact and has great power.
In the present scenario, S.T.A.R Labs take a hold of the alien artifact that belongs to the Atlanteans. At this point, winged alien creatures called parademons, associated with DC villain Darkseid began kidnapping scientists to fetch more information.
The newly formed "Justice League" reached the Stryker's Island to battle the parademons. The battle will take place in the unfinished tunnel that were originally meant to connect Gotham with Metropolis. In addition to the Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash and Cyborg, the movie will also include Superman, Aquaman and an Atlantean named Vulko.
According to IGN, actor Willem Dafoe will join the cast of "Justice League" as the science advisor of Atlantis and and Aquaman. "Justice League" is about " Bruce Wayne starting over, being reborn, believing - finding hope."
