While some reports suggest that the new MacBook Air 2016 is scheduled to hit the market in August, other reports indicate that the Cupertino-based tech giant will launch the much-rumored laptop this month. However, the company did not reveal its latest MacBook Air during the Worldwide Developers Conference.
There are rumors that the manufacturer will hold a separate press conference to give an official statement on the release of the imminent MacBook Air 2016, particularly because the same happened in April last year. According to Mac Rumors, the tech giant will have the press release after its WWDC 2016 conference. Apple is yet to reveal details on the exact date of the upcoming press release.
The company is also mum with regard to the specifications of its upcoming device. However, many rumors have surfaced with regard to the features of the new MacBook Air 2016. Tech experts believe that the imminent laptop will not exhibit significant changes like its precursors.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is reputable for giving accurate information on Apple devices, revealed that the upcoming MacBook Air 2016 would come in two variants - a 15-inch variant and a 13-inch variant, according to a different report by the same publication. The two models are expected to take over from the 11-inch iteration.
In addition, the upcoming MacBook Air 2016 will be thinner and lighter, featuring a Touch ID and an OLED touch panel on its keyboard. Besides the OLED touch panel, the forthcoming laptop will have four USB Type-C ports.
Apple has not confirmed any of these rumors, and therefore, fans should take the information with a pinch of salt. Still, there is a general perspective that the MacBook Air 2016 will hit the market in August, with the release happening this June.
