Sony announced that PlayStation Vue Live TV and its video streaming service will be supporting Roku and Android smartphones and tablets next week, June 26, since these are the top devices that users of PlayStation Vue would like them to add.

“We are happy to share that PlayStation Vue is expanding to Roku devices today, with support for Android smartphones and tablets launching next week. Since we’ve launched PlayStation Vue nationwide, we have heard from many of you that Roku and Android are the top devices you wanted us to add, so we’re pleased to make this a reality,” said Dan Myers, PlayStation Vue Head of Product in the official US PlayStation blog.

PlayStation Vue was made available on Roku Streaming Stick, Roku Streaming players, and Roku TV on June 21 and will also work on Android smartphones and tablets with Android 4.4 or higher. Users who already have an account can just download PS Vue on their Roku device and start streaming. But those who doesn't have an account can sign up for a one-week free trial through the PlayStation4, PlayStation3 or PlayStation Vue website.

Said move comes after Sony expanded the service nationwide three months ago covering the entire US with an additional 203 market, offering more channels including AMC, Cartoon Network, Disney, ESPN and Comedy Central, PC Mag reported.

PlayStation Vue, which will also support Casting, aims to be a cable replacement service offering cable, premium, and specialty channels. It also offers a number of a la carte channels and since it is incoming for Android devices, users will be able to use Vue anywhere, even on televisions without PlayStations.

The users are given three options that include Access with 55+ channels, plus live cable TV, movies, and sports channels for $29.99 monthly, Core for $34.99 monthly featuring 70+ channels, plus all the channels from Access including live national and regional sports networks and Elite that has 100+ channels, including all the channels from Core including top movie and entertainment channels for $44.99 monthly. An additional $10 is added for every option for cities with major live local broadcast stations.

Recently, Vue is availabl for iPhone, iPad and Amazon Fire TV.
