A woman in Jinan who walked naked on the streets of Shandong Province is lucky because two good Samaritans, in the form of unknown men, stopped and took off their clothes to cover her. Not only did they spare her from embarrassment but also from China’s tough laws against nudity.

According to Pink News, which listed 17 bizarre sex laws, China bans a woman to be naked even in a hotel room. The only exception to that law is if she goes to her suite’s bathroom and answers the call of nature or takes a bath.

The second Chinese law on the list is that in Hong Kong, a wife could kill her husband if he cheats on her. But she is allowed to use only one method of killing – with her bare hands. Knives, guns or other weapons are not allowed.

Even in art, nudity was banned in China that when Liu Haisu, a renowned Chinese painter, held a nude-model drawing course at an art school in Shanghai in 1917, he shocked the public. In 1928, a nude female model was beaten by her father when he found out she was the model for the first Chinese artistic nude photograph by Lang Jingshan, according to Historyandheadlines.

Until now, nudity and sexually explicit content is banned on China’s internet heavily controlled by the State Administration for Print, Publication, Film, Radio and Television. Whenever nude images, like that of the woman who posted her naked image at a Tibet shrine, are published it becomes viral but quickly removed by the censor.

Other than the two, other bizarre sex laws in other cities include London’s ban on having sex while on a motorcycle, Wisconsin allowing bestiality and sodomy so long as it is not done in public, Thailand’s prohibition on humans having sex with female dogs, especially those in heat, Alabama’s ban on sex toys and Lebanon legalizing bestiality, except with a male animal.

In Sweden, people could pose topless in photo booths, but they cannot take pictures of their private parts when inside the booths. Bakersfield in California bans sex with the devil, except if the partner uses a condom. Minnesota prohibits sex with a live fish but allows it with a dead fish. In Minnesota, it is forbidden to sleep naked, while in Maryland, kissing in public beyond one minute is not allowed.

Indonesia has a 32-month jail term for people caught masturbating. Michigan’s penalty for people caught shacking up or cohabiting is a one-year prison term and $1,000 fine. People caught having extramarital sex in Dubai are jailed. Budapest bans having sex with the lights on, and in a lot of Asian, African and Middle Eastern nations, homosexuality is punishable by death.
