Recent reports have emerged that newly-crowned English Premier League champions Leicester City FC are plotting a £7 million summer swoop for Republic of Ireland's Robbie Brady after the ongoing 2016 UEFA European Championship.

Republic of Ireland advanced in the knockout stages of the Euros this summer after placing third in Group E behind world powers Italy and Belgium. The national team faced another tournament favorite, France, in the round-of-16 and was beaten 1-2, which resulted in their official elimination from the competitions.

Still, it was considered as a successful stint for Brady and his squad, who were not projected to advance past the group stage during pre-tournament predictions.

The 24-year-old Norwich City winger's performance in the Euros have attracted the attention of several teams in the English top flight and no less than the reigning champions is one of them.

The Daily Mirror indicated that "Leicester are ready to make a £7 million move for Norwich's Euro 2016 hero Robbie Brady", who scored the lone goal of the Green Army in their knockout match against France and also provided the winning goal during their upset victory over Italy in the group competitions.

Brady netted three goals in 36 appearances with the Yellows in the Premier League last season, his first and only season so far in Norwich City after he joined the club last summer in also a £7 million move from Hull City.

Norwich City is going back to the Championship this coming season after getting relegated in 2015-2016, but Brady may be staying in the English top flight if the deal with the Foxes pushes through.

Meanwhile, Caught Offside noted that champion coach Claudio Ranieri is "interested in giving Brady a chance to return to the Premier League, rather than join his club (Norwich) in Championship division next season".

Ranieri's side is said to be already in close negotiations with the representatives of the 5-foot-8 Irish winger and it could be just a matter of time before an official announcement is made.

Brady began his senior career with Manchester United during the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons, but he was only put in the Red Devils' reserve squad.

His Premier League debut came with Hull City in August of 2013, a 1-0 win over his current team Norwich City, where he scored the winning goal in the contest.
