| Jun 28, 2016 10:59 PM EDT

MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to include an OLED touch panel.

The MacBook Pro 2016 release, according to analyst Ming-chi Kuo, will be a huge leap for the line in the past four years. Kuo predicted that the upcoming MBP will depart big time from the last models with an ultra-slim and super-lightweight profile but packing more power than ever.

Combined with what Kuo has already provided, below are a few of the MacBook Pro 2016 details, some partially confirmed, known so far:

13-inch and 15-inch form factors

Kuo and other analysts are expecting Apple to make the new MacBook Pros available in 13-inch and 15-inch screen sizes with the design and build patterned after the 12-inch MacBook 2016 that the tech giant has issued months ago.

There were rumors too that a 17-inch form factor could be part of the deal but the whispers on this appeared to have died down gradually.

Multiple USB-C ports with unibody design

To achieve its touted ultraportable profile, the MacBook Pro 2016 will reportedly use a unibody design that according to 9to5Mac was shown in recent 3D render of the device. Also showcased with the unibody cutout are provisions for not one but up to four USB-C ports, which indicate that the MPB refresh is ready for expansion and increased productivity.

MacOS Sierra to deliver fresh features and functionalities

Apple has confirmed that it will be MacOS Sierra and not OS X 10.12 that will run the new Macs and so it will be the star of the MacBook Pro show this 2016. Packed with the rebranded OS are smart features to make the MacBook upgrade more interesting.

Siri for Mac or the digital assistant popularized by Apple with the iPhone is part of the deal. Touch ID unlocking with iPhone or Apple Watch is likewise included.

OLED function keys

One new feature that will visually differentiate the new MacBook Pro from old Mac is said to be the OLED touch panels or function keys. The add-on will be located on the top portion of the device keyboard and will be programmable to suit the working habits of users.

9to5Mac said that the feature upgrade is nearly confirmed thanks to codes detected on MacOS Sierra and the concepts that hit the internet.

Timing of unboxing

It is said that the trimmed down MacBook Pro 2016 and the ultra-slim 12-inch MacBook will negate the need for a MacBook Air refresh this year. But reports from Asia indicated that the Air will still be updated then following its rollout the MacBook Pro 2016 release date will happen, possibly in the last quarter of the year or October at the earliest.
