Another iPhone 7 leaked photo shows that there might not be a headphone jack at all regardless if it will be the 4.7-inch variant of the iPhone 7 Plus with the 5.5-inch screen.
One leaker from Nowhereelse.fr has provided new photos of a gold iPhone 7 chassis that clearly shows the lack of the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack that has been controversial in the past few reports. Earlier reports have claimed that at least one iPhone 7 model will feature the standard headphone jack while the others will be replaced with a Lightning port.
In lieu of the headphone jack, the new chassis shows holes for the stereo speakers. It is an interesting choice considering that not everyone likes to play music or sound using their smartphone's speakers because of the lack of bass and weak intensity.
The leaked iPhone 7 gold chassis photo also shows a possible input for the microphone and other speaker outputs as well, Forbes has learned. All of the holes are symmetrical on either side which could be confusing to confirm which ports will be placed where or if they are ports at all.
Another leaked photo from Nowhereelse.fr also shows the rear side of the smartphone from Apple. It shows the single camera lens and the camera flash. It is speculated that the photo is the smallest model as the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus is expected to have the dual-lens camera setup for the rear.
Besides the iPhone 7 chassis leaked photos, there are also images of the supposed earphones for the new smartphone. A photo from Weibo shows the new Apple EarPods donning a Lightning connector that could more or less confirm that the iPhone 7 will really have no 3.5mm headphone jack, Yahoo News reported.
Some users are pointing out that the photo is a fake considering that an adapter is needed to convert the audio signals first. Apple could still offer the Lightning adapters when the iPhone 7 finally launches in the following weeks.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus in a separate press event. The Cupertino-based tech giant could finally confirm all the rumors and speculations regarding the hardware specs and features of their new smartphone for 2016.
