'Person of Interest' Season 5 news: Online campaign resulted to a confirmed spin-off?

‘Person of Interest’ is demanded by fans to have another season.

The last season of "Person of Interest" ended last June 21 answering a lot of questions previously demanded by fans. Despite the season going on full circle, fans are hoping the series would be extended for another season, or maybe a production of a spin-off which have not yet been confirmed by producers.

Due to the increasing demand for an extension, fans have started an online campaign to make the spin-off, or season extension possible. An unidentified person already started a "Save Person of Interest" petition at Change.org addressed to Netflix, Amazon, WGN and other similar companies.

The petition appeals to the producers to extend the series for one more season with all of its major characters present, or to at least produce a spin-off that will feature one of the show's major characters. Despite the on-going request, producers have not yet given any statement.

Although there had been no confirmation from authorities yet, several indications already surfaced in the past weeks. During an interview with Finch actor Michael Emerson, the actor somewhat slipped a detail he referred as being included in the last season's finale but was actually not, TV Line reported.

The report revealed that the actor asked the interviewer about the latter's take on the dark-haired guy who rode the motorcycle during the closing montage, but the scene did not actually appear during the episode finale.

When producers were asked about Emerson's slip-of-the-tongue moment, they only responded with a good chuckle. The response was interpreted that a spin-off of the series is probably on the works, or already being talked about for future production.

Another report pointed out an indication that a clear blueprint for a "Person of Interest" spinoff may happen in another part of the country. The report speculated that three of the major characters may be feature in the said spinoff, Cinema Blend reported.

The showrunners may not be divulging any information yet as they see there would be a perfect timing in case the spin-off is officially confirmed. More details are expected to be revealed in the coming months. Information will eventually unfold little by little, and fans will be able to know if their request has actually been granted
