"The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 may be the last for the most watched scripted series on the United States television. It was the confession of Rajesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) when he appeared on "This Morning" along his "The Spoils" co-star Jesse Eisenberg.
Speaking to "This Morning" hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Nayyar hinted that there is a possibility that "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 could be the last for the series. Without confirmation of the news, he stated that he or his co-stars cannot do anything with it once the creators have decided to end it.
"I don't know to be honest," Nayyar told "This Morning" hosts when he was asked if he is still returning to film the final run. "It could be the end, hopefully it's not. The decisions are not up to us. I hope it isn't."
A lot of speculations have been revolving around "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 after news came out that mainstays Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) contracts are expiring at the end of Season 10. The contracts of the two lead stars were reportedly the deciding factor for CBS to renew the series.
It was not the first time for Nayyar to talk about the possible ending of the CBS comedy series. Earlier in June, he shared the same thoughts when he attended MCM London Comic Con.
"Look, next season, as it stands on our contract, could be the last season of 'Big Bang Theory,'" Cinema Blend quoted Nayyar as saying. "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 is set to premiere on Sept. 19.
"The Big Bang Theory" are heading into negotiations with CBS about their contracts anytime soon, according to Deadline. The cast members are reportedly asking for additional pay before the production began in August for the next season. As of their last contracts, the leading trio Jim Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco were said to be receiving $1 million range perepisode.
