Insta360 Nano: pocket-sized 360 degree video cam; works as iPhone extension

The Insta360 Nano is connected right below the iPhone.

The Insta360 Nano is a tiny plug-and-shoot spherical camera that has the ability to give users the experience of capturing 360 degree videos anywhere they want with their iPhone.

360-degree videos are becoming more and more common, usually seen on social media. But it's not exactly size-friendly if you want to have it with you all the time and shoot on the go.

Over the ages, we've seen the development of mobile phones become smaller, from being large walkie-talkies to pocket-sized smart mobiles. For starters, virtual reality and 360 degree supported camera rigs are mostly huge and difficult to carry on your person all the time.

The Insta360 Nano swiftly resolves this issue by being in the form of a pocket-size camera, as introduced in their websiteThe device is connected to the Lightning port on the bottom of an iPhone.

It works by having a pair of 210-degree fish-eye cameras facing the opposite of each other, which means that the device is an external stand-alone camera. It can be attached to and removed from the smart phone and not a plug-in extension to the iPhone's built-in cameras.

Being a cool attachment for the iPhone, it also surprisingly can be used independently without being connected to a smart phone, according to the 360 Rumors blog. That flexibility allows the users to have everything they need in exchange of having a bulkier gadget brought everywhere they go.

Another one of its advantages is its ability to combine all the panoramic images from the pair of cameras in real-time. This allows users to immediately view and share them without having to make additional edits and productions on the PC.

In addition, for a real-time 360 video camera, the Insta360 Nano boasts an impressive 3000 resolution and a rate of 30 frames per second (fps). By being attached in the rear bottom of the smart phone, using the Insta360 Nano will require you to hold the iPhone upside-down.

To top it all, Insta360 Nano comes with a cheap price of $199 alongside five available colors (black, gray, pink, silver, and gold). The product can be pre-ordered from Amazon and will begin shipping on July 15.
