"Empire" Season 3 will feature more intense storylines.

"Empire" season 3 will reveal whether or not Jamal's (Jussie Smollet) relationship with D-Major could progress into something more.

In season 2, D-Major made a move to kiss Jamal and the latter reciprocated. However, when Lucious (Terrence Howard) suddenly walked into the studio, D-Major made it seem as though Jamal tried to molest him.

While speaking with TV Guide, executive producer Sanna Hamri said that anything could happen between Jamal and D-Major in the upcoming episodes of "Empire" season 3.

"D-Major represents a lot of people who struggle with not being their authentic self, not feeling comfortable about their sexuality. It's something we like discussing in the writer's room. Obviously he likes Jamal but he's on the down low and we'll see what happens, whether he remains on the down low or not," she said.

Hamri continued by saying that there are tons of people in the real world who have been hiding their true sexual preference. But at one point, they will reach a time where they will say, "I can't handle it anymore."

Additionally, Jamal's relationship with D-Major, regardless if it's a romantic or platonic one, would cause Lucious to closely monitor whether the latter is just taking advantage of his son.

Meanwhile, Anika (Grace Gealey) will also be in huge trouble when the hit FOX series premieres sometime in the next few months.

According to Hamri, the reason behind Anika's decision to push Rhonda and endanger her baby's life will finally be revealed next season.

"This is what's so great about 'Empire,' and that's what I love about the writer's room: Everything is crafted for the end. It's not haphazard. That moment when Lucious walks down that aisle and said, 'I know you pushed her,' is brilliant. We know he's a mastermind, he gets the right information at the right time for his advantage. So things are done purposely; very twisty plots. That's what makes it thrilling, exciting and also crazy," Hamri said.

Additionally, Anika will do everything in her power to find a place in the Lucious household. However, Andre (Trai Byers), Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) will make it most difficult for her.

"Empire" season 3 will premiere on FOX sometime this fall.
