While Blossom Entertainment, Song Hye Kyo and Lee Bong Gyu have cleared the name of “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki in the sexual assault case involving his friend Park Yoochun, the former JYJ band member is far from being exonerated.
Park Yoochun was summoned for four straight days by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency over charges of sexual assault filed by five different women. After he filed a countersuit against one of the women who accused the singer-actor of sexual assault, the police asked him to return for additional testimonies, reported Asiastarz.
The first summon was on June 30 when Park Yoochun was interrogated for eight hours. Since July 2, he was summoned again for four consecutive days. He is facing four separate lawsuits because one of the accusers withdrew her case, while the singer-actor has filed two countersuits.
A representative of the Seoul police explained, “The incident is reliant upon the opposing party’s confession so in the case that [the investigation] ever comes down to it, we are considering conducting lie detector tests and cross-examinations.”
Park Yoochun’s accusers all work in bars and claimed they were raped by the former JYJ band member in the bars’ bathrooms.
On Wednesday night, SBS reported that the police would exonerate, or clear of the charges, the singer-actor. SBS said that one of the accusers, who withdrew her lawsuit, admitted that she, her boyfriend and cousin tried to blackmail Park Yoochun of 100 million won and the police would arrest the three.
But a department head from the Seoul Gangnam Police Station denied the SBS report, saying, “The Park Yuchun case is still ongoing in its investigation. We have not determined about the charges or not,” quoted JYJ3.net. C-JeS Entertainment, the agency of Park Yoochun, confirmed it is waiting for results of the police investigation.
