Iran Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has pledged to further promote bilateral ties with China which he said plays a strong influential role in world affairs.

Larijani made this pronouncement during a meeting with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Feb. 16.

The top legislator added that the Iranian Parliament will find ways to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The speaker highlighted China's role to help Iran resolve and settle its issue on nuclear arms.

Minister Wang Yi, on the other hand, thanked Larijani for his continuing support of the China-Iran ties and expressed willingness to boost parliamentary exchanges between them.

The Chinese foreign minister also expressed interest to further improve its relations with Iran and build more partnerships in infrastructure, energy and industry sectors. He said his country is willing to encourage Chinese companies to invest in industrial parks and build factories based on Iran's development needs.

Wang told the Iranian top legislator that China will continue to help Iran on the settlement of the nuclear issue and urge Iran to solve it through a peaceful and diplomatic way, which is more favored by China.

"Whatever the circumstance, we firmly support talks, oppose the use of violence and disapprove unilateral sanctions," Wang was quoted as saying.

Iran and the P5 + 1 (which includes the U.S., Russia, China, France, the U.K. and Germany) are expected to reach conclusion on the basic framework agreement next month and the final accord on June 30.
