Top 7 Reasons to Upgrade from iPhone 6S to iPhone 7

Another concept render of the Apple iPhone 7 which is rumored to start at 32GB

Persistent reports indicate that nothing much will change from iPhone 6S to the iPhone 7 release date later this 2016. The upcoming refresh seems unable to inspire the same excitement generated in the past years. But a closer look will reveal that the 2016 iPhones will unbox with massive feature upgrades.

And here are the seven next iPhone specs bumps that should make both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (or iPhone Pro) compelling buys:

More power and speed

It's no secret that in providing the sequel to the last iPhone, Apple makes sure that the new models will pack more power and speed, which will be made possible by the use of A10 processing chip under the hood. This main engine is expected to deliver increased and superfast mobile computing prowess with the support of up to 3GB of RAM (rumored for the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus or Pro).

And while the next iPhone punch is said to be significantly enhanced, the efficient use of energy is even more improved, largely thanks to iOS 10 that will run the 2016 iPhone show.

Slimmed down and beautiful

The iPhone 6S is already impressively super-slim but Apple is reportedly bent on further trimming down the iPhone 7 profile. The next iPhone beautification process includes pushing the rear antenna band further the edge for a clear back plate finish.

And while the iPhone 7 is surely coming out pretty in pink (Rose Gold), users can also pick from a new color option of either Space Black or Deep Blue finish.

Camera upgrades

It is likely that with the new iPhones, Apple will retain the 12MP rear and 5MP front camera combo but hardware and software shooting upgrades are certainly part of the deal. Specifically for the bigger iPhone, dual camera is among the major bumps expected.

Capacitive home button with 3D Touch

Reports said the next iPhone will ditch as many moving parts as possible for better durability so the physical home button is likely saying goodbye. Replacing it is a capacitive home button with 3D Touch features, which means the new pressure-sensitive home key is also the gateway for users to quickly access handset features and functions.

IP68 rating

The iPhone 7 is also rumored to unpack with IP68 certification - the device is water resistant and dust proof right out of the box, which is the new Apple flagship phone following the route earlier taken by premium Android smartphones.

Wireless charging

Another fresh feature speculated for the next iPhone is the convenience of wireless charging.

Storage step up

But what could prove as the biggest selling point of the iPhone 7 on release date is the double storage jump. Gone will be the 16GB/64GB/128GB storage configuration, to be replaced by 32GB/128GB/256GB, a key adjustment that analysts said Apple hopes will make the next iPhone fly off the shelves.
