Nintendo NX controller leak that caused controversy.

The mobile game industry is now targeted by big names in the gaming world including Nintendo. Recent reports claim that the giant Japanese video game company is thinking about developing physical controllers for smartphones.

According to Polygon, the general manager of Nintendo's entertainment planning and development department, Shinya Takahashi, expressed his interest on making physical controllers and different types of hardware and software for various mobile games.

Takahashi suggested his idea during the company's yearly meeting with its shareholders. The ideas of Takahashi have the support of the company's CEO, Tatsumi Kimishima, wherein he said that the company is indeed planning to develop a list of projects soon. Kimishima also said that developing physical controllers and applications would require the participation and support of DeNA.

The same publication cited that Nintendo and DeNa have collaborated in developing "Miitomo," which is a conversational application that allows users to communicate with their friends by answering queries on different issues.

On the other hand, it was just in April when Nintendo officially announced its step to enter the mobile gaming app by introducing two of the video game company's most loved gaming franchise, namely "Fire Emblem" and "Animal Crossing," Game Rant has learned.

According to the publication, Nintendo revealed its plan to make the games available under the iOS and Android platforms during the company's annual financial report. The report noted that Nintendo experienced success with its release of its first mobile application "Miitomo," which is why it may not be surprising that the company is exploring more on investing in mobile apps.

Meanwhile, the report did also cite the possibility of the "Animal Crossing" game to be available on Nintendo NX. The NX is said to be one of the most anticipated consoles of the year, but it was already confirmed that the device is slated to be released in 2017.

Nevertheless, "Fire Emblem" and "Animal Crossing" mobile apps were reported to be released this fall. In regards to the physical controllers for smartphones and tablets, Nintendo has not revealed a projected release date yet.
