Recently, Starz announced that "Outlander" has been picked up for Season 3 and Season 4. The two follow-up seasons are expected to adapt Gabaldon's books "Voyager" and "Drums of Autumn."
In a recent Q&A on Twitter, a fan asked Moore about how difficult or easy it is to adapt Voyager for TV. The EP's responded: "It's already proving much easier." Scroll down to view the post.
Moore also revealed that the cast and crew will begin filming for "Outlander" Season 3 in early fall or late summer. However, fans may expect some diversions from the book's storyline.
According to Cinema Blend, "Voyager" sees Claire return to the 1700s. It is the time when Claire meets Jamie in Edinburgh and the two begin a journey that takes them across the ocean and to Jamaica. "Outlander" Season 3 is expected showcase a CG ship and the EP is pretty excited about it.
"I can't wait to get out to sea. That's what [I like], doing the tall ship section... I want to do the whole sea chase; that whole section is really going to be fun. I'm sure it will be really hard and I'll regret it as soon as I start doing it, but I'm looking forward to it," he said about Season 3 at ComicCon 2015.
Speaking to Bustle, Moore promised that they are trying to as faithful as they can to the books but fans can expect some "added elements" to the storyline.
"I think the longer that you go, the more the TV series inevitably veers from the book and certain plot lines then take on a life of their own," Moore said.
In addition, Season 3 will explore a new plot point that will be introduced in "Outlander" Season 2 episode 13 (finale). "Definitely in the finale, there's a storyline that was not in the book, but it's around one of the characters that's in the book," he added. "We expanded on that and broidered on that because it just seemed like it was a great opportunity, it was a lot of fun."
So when "Outlander" Season 3 episode 1 will go on air? It is said that the show will return sooner than expected. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, producer Matt Roberts hinted at the possibility of an early premiere of Season 3.
"Now the fans can have it sooner than what they think. The Droughtlander won't be as long as they expect," Roberts said.
However, Starz is yet to reveal the official airdate for "Outlander" Season 3. So, stay tuned for more spoilers and updates.
