Surface Pro 5, Surface Book 2 news, release: New Surface devices may be announced on the upcoming Microsoft 2016 Fall event? [RUMOR]

Initial rumors hinted that the American tech conglomerate is delaying Surface Pro 5 release from late 2016 to spring of 2017.

As the Redmond-based tech giant remains mum about the rumors flying actively around the tech world, recent reports claim that there is indeed a big Microsoft event this coming fall. This hardware-centric happening may feature the unveiling of new, but not highly-updated, Surface-brand devices.

While some earlier rumors said that the American corporation has delayed the anticipated Redstone 2 software update until spring of 2017, a report from ZDNet confirmed that fans and tech enthusiasts may see a new Surface device before the year ends. However, the report did not confirm whether it's the new Surface Pro 5, Surface Book 2 or Surface Phone device.

It can be noted that a recent announcement from Microsoft has affirmed that the company has stopped making more Surface Pro 3 family tablets amid the shortage in supply. This, however, shows either the company is preparing a new Surface Pro that will be called Surface Pro 4 or the firm is axing the Surface tablet line.

Meanwhile, since fans are eagerly awaiting for a Surface Phone and the rumored Surface AIO device, rumor has it that they may not see it until next year, too. This is because the following devices are both waiting for the upcoming Kaby Lake processor from Intel, as this new chipset will reportedly be available by spring 2017.

Furthermore, although sources said that Microsoft is indeed coming with a new Surface Phone, the device will be made available for businesses and not be placed against the consumer handsets.

In other news, Microsoft may be unveiling the Surface Pro 5 in the upcoming fall event, Trusted Reviews reported.  It is said that this new hybrid will sport a 4K display and an awesome processor - Intel Kaby Lake.

Although some says that Surface Pro 5 will not be released this year, some are positive that it will be unveiled on the said event, as its predecessor Surface Pro 4 is currently on a discounted sale. This is taken as a sign that Microsoft is gearing up a big unveiling for its Surface Pro 5.

Recent rumors have also claimed that Microsoft will be launching a successor to its current Band 2. This fitness band is not powered by Windows 10 yet, and it is also not among the company's Surface line.

With the contrasting reports about an upcoming Microsoft Fall 2016 hardware event, the tech firm remains mum.
