"The Flash" season 3 will feature actor John Barrowman in a recurring role starting this fall.
According to TV Line, the "Arrow" star will now be part of all three of Greg Berlanti's shows in The CW. This also includes stints in "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2.
However, Barrowman's casting drew in a slew of mixed reactions from fans.
Some fans claimed that Barrowman's character Malcolm Merlyn should have been killed off from "Arrow" a long time ago.
Other harsher comments came from fans who said that they don't want Barrowman to be part of "The Flash" season 3 because might just downgrade the quality of the coming episodes.
One fan @Kath wrote, "John Barrowman could bring the camp but the character Malcolm should have been done on 'Arrow' in season 2. Season 3 was twisted out of shape to write in Malcolm and he was over-used by season 4. Oliver 'I can't kill Malcolm because he's Thea's father' was as stupid as 'I can't tell Felicity about William because Samantha won't let me.'"
Another fan @BeckyBoo is happy that Barrowman will be part of "The Flash" season 3 and "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 simply because this means he will be having fewer scenes in "Arrow" season 5.
"Oh thank goodness, hopefully this downsizes his appearance on 'Arrow' significantly in season 5. His character has been surplus to requirements since season 1 finale, and it's obvious they only keep him around because they like Barrowman. Now the other shows can share the unnecessary load!" the fan wrote.
In other news, "The Flash" season 3 will see Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in different timelines.
Last season, the lead character decided to alter the timeline when he chose to save his mom Nora from being killed.
Unfortunately, Barry's selfish act will have tons of negative consequences. Not only will he be affected by the chance in the timeline, his closest friends will be affected by it too.
At present, the filming for "The Flash" season 3 has already begun.
"The Flash" season 3 will premiere on The CW sometime this October.
