Microsoft teases their upcoming most powerful video game console, the Xbox-Project Scorpio.

Microsoft has recently released a new Xbox one System Software update for Preview Program members, which turns off the Cortana feature. The new update also fixed different issues the console had before.

The new update for the Preview members is numbered rs1_xbox_1608.160710-1722, and it was launched on July 12, according to the official private forums of the Preview Program. The system software developers have thanked the members for testing out the latest update that they have developed. One particular feature has been changed and that was the option of having Cortana turned off.

For those who will opt out the Cortana feature, the legacy voice command will be enabled instead for the console owner's convenience. They should note that there will be certain features that will be disabled like the headset voice control support, voice dictation, and the Universal Windows apps voice features. To opt out the Cortana feature, they only need to launch the Guide, go to All Settings, then the System option, then Cortana Settings, and just press the first toggle to Off, according to Windows Central.

There were also several fixes done to different features of the console system. For the Xbox Universal Store, players can now redeem a 5x5 code for Xbox Live Gold on the console, which makes it more convenient. The update also fixed an issue that made it fail to display the right content when players use some specific language and region mixes.

The update also fixed an issue of the headset, which caused no audio or microphone output from it when owners plugged it in. The Netflix framerate lag issue was also fixed with the new update. For EA Access, this new build includes fixes to different issues the EA Access vault games was plagued with.

The update also fixed the Notifications feature issue, which caused it to fail to appear sometimes. The issue of some box art being prevented from appearing during installation was also fixed. Lastly, the VUDU app will now let console owners buy and rent content from it.

This new update still has some issues, which are known by the developers. Preview members might encounter issues from the Profile, Cortana, Pins, MyGames and Apps, and the Community Calendar features.

The Profile feature has an issue where console owners will be able to purchase a Gamertag change for their accounts and will be charged for it, but it will not change their Gamertag. They are advised to avoid purchasing one at this time, but they can change their Gamertags on the website.

The Cortana feature still has some issues like when console owners turn on the console, the legacy voice commands will be recognized, but the actions will fail. The developers suggested a workaround, which was launching the feature from My Games and Apps or Snap Cortana from the Guide.

For the Pins, they will disappear from Home when the new app update is installed. For My Games and Apps, console owners might get an error when they try to load Ready to Install with numerous digital games and apps. Lastly, the Community Calendar event details do not currently function.
