Production work for Hideo Kojima's newest gaming project "Death Stranding" is currently ongoing and is expected to become of the game creator's masterpieces. He also shared his expectations for the game and what players can expect to see from the upcoming gaming title.
Kojima has become one of today's legendary game designers and producers. Avid gamers may know him as the creator of the popular "Metal Gear" game series. However, his new project "Death Stranding" is expected to gain a huge following when the game is released. Kojima himself even described it as one of his "best work" during his Develop Brighton keynote, Digital Spy reported.
The game creator told PS4 designer Mark Cerny that he was confident about "Death Stranding" becoming one of his masterpieces. Kojima explained that working with Cerny and leveraging on available state-of-the-art technologies has resulted in a great game. He also recounted previous game development experiences where he had to work around challenges or comprise on certain things just to move forward with production.
However, Kojima mentioned that he did not go through the said challenges with his upcoming new game. He even teased that they are working at introducing "something completely new" that gamers have yet to see. Although he did not share other game details.
Meanwhile, in Kojima's latest HideoTube video series, the game creator shared some of his apprehensions prior to unveiling "Death Stranding" during the E3 conference held in June, IGN reported. He recalled some of the steps that he and his team took to avoid a potential news leak prior the said conference.
Kojima also admitted that he and his team all became nervous before the game's E3 announcement. He shared that he even had to use a separate entrance during E3 presentation rehearsal sessions. He also refrained from posting anything on social media prior the conference and stayed at a hotel away from the event's venue. "We ... could barely sleep. I couldn't even tweet that I was going to E3," Kojima stated.
The launch date for "Death Stranding" has yet to be announced. Although it is expected to be released on PS4 followed by a PC roll-out.
