Perhaps one of the biggest surprises in E3 2016, Hideo Kojima just shocked the gaming world by introducing his newest game, "Death Stranding." It will be available for the PS4 and PC and more details about the game are expected to be released in the upcoming days.
The game trailer was first unveiled and "Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus will remain as Kojima's main character. However, director Guillermo del Toro seems to be not involved in the project. The three were supposed to work on Konami's potential hit game "P.T." but negotiations fell flat which ultimately led to Kojima's departure from the project as well as the company.
So far, the game engine to be used is yet to be decided and the genre of the game is still unknown. Regardless, Kojima hinted that it will be an action-packed game but it would not be a "straightforward" type of action game, Attack of the Fanboy reported. "It's something completely different from what they're used to," Kojima said.
For fans wondering about the game's release date, it is not expected to be announced anytime soon and it is also not connected to "P.T." Everyone is wondering how this game will work out, hence, Kotaku made some speculations on what this game is all about. Despite the game being on its early stages,
"There are a lot of elements in this teaser...I want for people to create their own ideas," Kojima said in a panel interview at E3. This could mean that "Death Stranding" is more of a game where majority of the events will be decided by the player and it will lead to countless scenarios that will decide the fate of the character Reedus will portray.
What is more intriguing is the world Reedus woke up to. He saw mysterious handprints on the sand and he broke to tears when he saw his baby, who is presumably dead. He is then surrounded by these mysterious handprints, and when he looked in the sky, five figures can be seen and it appears that these are the entities that control the world.
