YG Entertainment claimed that 2NE1 comeback could happen by next year, according to YG Entertainment.
YG Life stated that fans were curious why one of the top girl groups is not joining the lineup of comebacks with Wondergirls, SISTAR, and other senior girl groups. 2NE1 has been missing in action since February 2014. Their last single was "Crush".
In April, YG Entertainment released a statement, "The remaining three members have re-signed, and they're preparing for a new song release for this summer as 2NE1. We are not looking for an additional member to replace Minzy."
Moreover, Dara is leaving South Korea for some time to work in the Philippines where she got her break in the entertainment industry. Reports claimed that she will host a reality TV show. Since it's a TV show, it will most likely run for months. This means the trio is not preparing for any possible comeback in months.
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment seems to be focusing on its new flagship girl group - BLACKPINK. Teddy Park will be the main producer of the new girl group. It was thought that G-Dragon will be the producer of the girls, but it seems that Teddy has more songs fit for a girl group. Teddy has been in charge of 2NE1's albums. Thus, we can expect songs similar to 2NE1.
The label has high hopes for the new female group. YG Entertainment has officially revealed the members of BLACKPINK - Jennie Kim, Lalisa Manoban, Kim Jisoo, and Park Chaeyoung. Yibada previously reported that the new YG girl group will have four members like its sunbae group 2NE1.
Blackjacks can only wait for an official announcement from YG Entertainment.
