iPad Pro 2 rumors, updates: New iPad Pro to launch alongside iOS 10 in September

| Jul 18, 2016 06:43 AM EDT

The new iPad Pro may come as early as September this year.

The next generation of Apple's iPad Pro is expected to be unveiled by September earliest. It is believed the upcoming iteration will launch in concurrent with the iOS 10.

The original iPad Pro was first launched in September 2015, then a 9.7-inch model arrived March this year. Since September is a time for the Cupertino-based company to unveil several devices and a new operating system, the possibility of releasing the next iPad Pro is likely. The tablet's revelation can coincide with the much-anticipated iPhone 7 and iOS 10, PC Advisor reported.

Other speculations are being considered with regards to the official release date of the iPad Pro 2. Since it was recently rumored it will be installed with the A10X chipset, the actual launch will not come until next year, The Motley Fool reported.

The report further strengthened its claim by explaining that Apple will be needing a lot of work to do with the next generation of its AX chipset which is believed to be running the next iteration of iPad models. Taiwan Semiconductors is the one delivering the said chipsets for the tech-giant, and since it recently announced the mass production of its 10-nanometer chip will only start late 2016 and early 2017, the A10X chipset will arrive during only that period.

Aside from the rumored A10X chipset, the new iPad Pro is also believed to sport other several features. While it may come with the same storage options and a rose gold variant, it is expected to at least match the specs of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro having a 12MP iSight camera with 4K video recording and live photos. Its front camera is expected to at least come with 5MP FaceTime HD camera with a retina flash.

While it is still a waiting game for the upcoming iPad Pro, some iPad variants like the iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5 could potentially launch at the first half of 2016 and at the second half of the year, respectively. There are many possible outcomes with regards to the release date of said device, but none of these has been announced as final.
