Here is the new Android 7.0 Nougat and Android Marshmallow release update for Sony Xperia Z2, Z3, C5 Ultra, Z4, M4 Aqua, Z5, M5 and C4.
When a new Android update is launched, it is rolled out to unlocked devices. After that, mobile carriers are rolling out these Android updates to their subscribers. Several smartphones have still not received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update; however, the tech giant Sony has already rolled out the update to its Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z5.
Mobile carriers such as Verizon Wireless, US Cellular, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint have already released Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Sony's devices. At present, the Xperia Z2 tablet, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 tablet, Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia Z5 Compact are seeing the Android M update.
According to Xperia Blog, Xperia M4 Aqua and M4 Aqua Dual will get the Android Marshmallow update soon. Also, many reports claim that the Xperia M5, Xperia C4 and Xperia C5 Ultra will also receive the Android M update.
There are speculations that the Android 7.0 Nougat will be available in the third quarter of this year. However, other reports indicate that it will show up in early 2017.
Sony devices that will have priority to get software will be the Z5-branded, after that the Xperia Z4 tablet and the Xperia Z3 series will follow. Unluckily, users of the Z1 series will not get Android Marshmallow or Android 7.0 Nougat update.
According to a USA TODAY report, Android 7.0 Nougat has multi-window mode that allows users to access and run two apps together on the same screen.
Meanwhile, speculations are making the rounds that Sony will reveal a range of new smartphones at the IFA 2016. The event will be held in the first week of September.
Sony F8331 and F8332 are the devices that have been suggested to be a part of the launch. According to various reports, some of the features of these devices include 32GB internal memory, 3GB RAM, 12MP front-facing camera, 21MP rear camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 5.1-inch 1080p display. The devices will run on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
