Avid adventure and role-playing gamers have been looking forward to the upcoming release of game designer Fumito Ueda's "The Last Guardian." Latest updates from Sony indicate that the game is in its final stages of debugging and tweaking.
The highly anticipated PS4 game title "The Last Guardian" has been in development for nearly 10 years. Some players may have even expressed speculations that the game may be delayed. However, an E3 2016 presentation has revealed its release date.
Sony President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has recently shared in a PlayStation BlogCast that the game's developers had a long discussion whether to include the game in the said event, SegmentNext reported.
Development work for the game has been ongoing, although Yoshida revealed that it has gone through several test runs. He also mentioned that "The Last Guardian" is already at the stage where the game has been checked for bugs that would need to be fixed. Apart from debugging, the Team ICO developers have also been adding further enhancements to the game.
It appears that the small upgrades and polishing work will continue until the game's last development stage prior its release, as indicated in the same report. However, the developer's team has expressed their confidence in the game and in meeting the target 2016 release date that led to the E3 2016 release date announcement. Yoshida even shared his excitement in the game's release date reveal.
The same sentiment was shared by the game's designer during an interview with Kotaku. He stated that the release date was a target that he and his team has always been aiming for. Ueda also revealed that the whole game is already complete and can be played from its beginning until its end.
The game designer also shared that some of the development work that they are currently working on involves tweaking some of the game events and cut scenes.
Ueda also commented on how the game looks better on PS4, as compared to its original PS3 console design. He even stated that his vision for the game has remained consistent over the 10 years that it took him and the developers to complete the upcoming gaming title.
"The Last of Us" has been slated for release on Oct. 25 on PS4.
