"Game of Thrones" actor John Bradley wants to play as a certain villain in the Batman franchise. He plays as Samwell Tarly in HBO's currently most popular hit.
Bradley said that he is interested in playing as The Penguin in a Batman film, when he was asked by user croskittles about what character he wanted to play in any movie if he was given a chance, in an "Ask Me Anything" thread on Reddit. The actor has showed interest in taking up the villainous role despite his meek personality in the HBO-hit TV show.
"I'd really love to have a go at playing him in a Batman movie," Bradley was quoted as saying in a comment. He said that the character hasn't had enough exposure in films.
In the thread, Bradley further stated that it would be nice to give the character the chance his own shine. The Penguin almost virtually exists in the comic book world, except for a few films and TV shows such as Gotham and Batman Returns.
This isn't the first time Bradley will be playing a villain, just in case he gets accepted for the role on a film in the far future. In an upcoming film called "Traders", he also takes up on a villainous role where he creates games in which two people will fight to the death while betting their life's savings, much like the trial by combat in "Game of Thrones."
In the same thread on Reddit, Bradley, 27, also shared that he only began reading for pleasure relatively recently. He claims to not having read a book that wasn't about football until he was 16, but being part of the huge HBO TV show, he was compelled to read the novels and enjoy them himself.
On a different note, there is a fan theory circulating on the internet that A Song of Ice and Fire in its entirety is simply a story being read and told by Bradley's character, Sam. The actor even went as far as to say that the actor himself thinks it might work. The unfolding events in the story is similar to how Sam is absorbing knowledge in the library, The Radio Times quoted him as saying.
