SISTAR perform on stage during Youtube Music Awards 2013 at Kintex Hall in 2013 in Seoul, South Korea.

Kang Ji Hyun aka Soyou or Soyu, lead vocalist of SISTAR, recently confessed her diet experience in a TV show. She needed to lose weight fast and she experienced crying while having a watermelon in her hands given by a friend of her mother, because she thought it would ruin her diet. On the quiz show "1 vs 100," the singer talked about her self-imposed dismal weight loss experience.

"I took the worst (dieting) method to lose 8 kg in a month," Kang said. I restricted my carbohydrate and salt intake to an extreme level."

The member of Starship Entertainment's girl group even gave a shocking revelation when asked by the show speaker of what she ate at the time. "I just ate four quail eggs without the yolk, low-fat milk, and salad without any dressing in a day."

Kang's bandmate, Kim Dasom revealed she experienced a "one food diet" to lose 10 kilograms in three weeks and that one food was cucumber. Cucumber consists mostly of water but high amounts of calcium and extremely low in calories, Koreaboo reported.

Korean variety shows would often ask K-pop idols for insights on how they keep their fitness and health in top shape. Choi Seung Hyun aka T.O.P. of Bigbang goes for red bean which has lots of calcium. Its tea form helps the body excrete salt while boiled red beans help curb appetite and make one feeling satiated.

Lee Changmin of 2AM chooses tofu which is extremely high in protein and other nutrients while having few calories. Hence, it gives a feeling of being full.

Seo Ju Hyun or Seohyun of Girls' Generation loves sweet potatoes, which contains less calories but more vitamin E that improves blood flow. Shin Dong Hee of Super Junior goes for salad and walnut dressing.

Singer-actor Seo In Guk was able to lose 22 pounds by boiling all his food instead of frying. He indulged in walnuts which are a perfect dieting snack because of its omega-3 fatty acids, fibers and protein that make one feel less hungry.

Seo In Young, former member of girl group Jewelry lost 13 pounds in four weeks with her "banana diet." She ate bananas to suppress hunger in between meals. Bananas are rich in enzymes that boost metabolism and digestion which help weight loss, All KPop The Shop reported.

The clip below is one of SISTAR's latest songs, "I Like That."
