Pusan International Film Festival 2008 Day 4

Although there are unconfirmed reports that Song Joong-ki and Song Hye Kyo would get married in the movie version of “Descendants of the Sun,” the actress has actually been tight-lipped about her next project.

She has not confirmed reprising her role of Army surgeon Kang Mo-Yeon. But Inquisitr reported on rumors that Song Hye Kyo might star in a Hollywood movie, although the speculation could be the result of the June 20 broadcast of tvN “The List 2016” where the actress is ninth in the list of actors who have successfully invested in real estate.

Cited in the show was her condominium unit overlooking Central Park in New York. But Song Hye Kyo bought the unit in 2009 while she was shooting “Make Youself At Home,” an independent Hollywood movie. She recently bought a new house worth $7.5 million in Samseongdong, Seoul which many believe would be her main residence but does not discount the possibility she could still live in New York.

The Korean actress said that she had received several offers, “but I still can’t bring myself to read a new project.” Song Hye Kyo hinted that instead of doing another drama, she may prefer to do a movie. But the actress is not closing the door to doing a drama, although she would be very picky about the role which fans would remember for a long time.

The “Descendants of the Sun” actress said if she were to take a drama as her next project, she wants to do a fatal melodrama, according to IBT. She hinted of a forbidden type of love in a project where she has to deeply invest her emotions.

The Hallyu star added she is interested in a niche role not tested or tried by other South Korean actresses. Song Hye Kyo pointed out, “Just like how male actors get to play varied characters, I would also like to play characters that people don’t normally see female characters portraying on screen.”
