Cast member Liam Cunningham talks Davos killing Melisandre in 'Game of Thrones.'

"Game of Thrones" cast member Liam Cunningham shared his thoughts on a potential reunion between his character Davos and Carice van Houten's Melisandre during the recently held San Diego Comic Con.

One of the tense scenes featured in Season 6 of the hit HBO show "Game of Thrones" was the confrontation between Davos, Melisandre and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) where the Lord Commander ended up banishing the red witch from the North for burning the child Shireen. The said scene has also shown Davos promising to kill Melisandre if they ever meet again. In an interview with Access Hollywood during the 2016 Comic Con, Cunningham commented that a potential reunion between the two characters would be a good storyline for the show.

However, he admitted that he has no idea if the series' showrunners plan to have Davos and Melisandre meet in upcoming episodes of "Game of Thrones" Season 7. He stated that he and his co-cast members have yet to receive the script for the HBO series' new season.

He also shared a similar sentiment during a TVLine interview with fellow cast member Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays Bran Stark, at the said annual convention. When asked whether Davos would stay true to his promise of killing Melisandre if they cross paths again, Cunningham confessed that he has been thinking about the same thing. He described the situation as interesting and hinted that viewers may potentially see the two characters in the upcoming season.

Cunningham teased Melisandre may likely make an appearance in the HBO show despite her banishment from the North. "I definitely don't think we've seen the last of the red witch," the actor stated.

Meanwhile, both Cunningham and Hempstead Wright shared their thoughts on how they managed to stay alive until the series' Season 7. "Game of Thrones" has been known to kill many of its characters. Both actors stated that they were surprised at having lasted this long in the HBO show especially with their "nice guy" roles. Cunningham even joked that the bad characters tend to live longer in the show.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is expected to premiere in summer 2017.
