The San Diego Comic-Con 2016 is in full swing, letting out spoilers and answers about different shows and movies. And now it is time for "Game of Thrones" fans to get their due.
On July 22, the much-awaited Q&A session by HBO's fantasy series took place in Hall H. Though no major spoiler came out, it was quite an interesting affair with some cast members and show runners in attendance.
Now HBO's blog "Making Game of Thrones" has come out with another interesting interview with Winter is Coming that features Liam Cunningham, who plays the character of Ser Davos on the show. The Onion Knight shared his views on a good number of topics.
Though he has not taken a look at the upcoming season's script, he is worried about Jon Snow's fate, the new king in the North. According to Cunningham, kings on the show have had a tragic history and they do not last long.
Cunningham may be right. Previous "Game of Thrones" seasons have witnessed the ending of several kings, including Robert, Renly, Stannis, Joffrey, Robb, Mance Rayder, Balon Greyjoy and most recently, Tommen. However, only time will tell whether Jon Snow's reign will also be doomed or not.
On the other hand, Cunningham is quite optimistic about Brienne and Tormund. Like the audience who had begun rooting for the two after watching them together in season 6, Cunningham is also eager to see a romance blossoming between the two. The prospect of the two romancing each other has him excited and he really hopes it happens in "Game of Thrones" season 7.
However, this is not the only aspect of the show where Cunningham finds himself echoing the views of the audience. He is as much impressed by the badass Bella Ramsey aka Lyanna Mormont as the viewers. Davos admitted that he is a big fan of Ramsay and thinks that she is a star. He also said that she is incredibly professional and a delight to work with. He hopes that the next season gives her more spotlight.
All we can say is that we agree with you Ser Davos. His fears and hopes are completely in tandem with those of the "Game of Thrones" fans. Meanwhile, Mashable reports that the production team would not finish shooting until February 2017 and by that time, George R.R. Martin is expected to have published his next book the series, "The Winds of Winter."
