"Game of Thrones" actress Masie Williams has revealed that on the Emmy's night, she will take her mom as the date, who has been a role model for the actress.
Williams was stunned when she found that her performance in the fiction series as Arya Stark has been nominated for the Emmys 2016. She was Facetiming with her mom when she received the news. The actress said that her mom was the first person to know about it and she is the one whom the actress plans to take as Emmys date in the September awards.
During an interview with the People Magazine, she said that she was away from her mom since last week and she spoke to her every day. A tweet from "Game of Thrones" informed her about the nomination while she was FaceTiming with her as usual. It was an unbelievable thing to happen to her, she said. The fiction show's 19-year-old actress added that her mom started crying out of happiness when she shared the news with her right at that moment.
"Game of Thrones'" Stark said that her mom was not only her role model but also the reason behind her success. "She gave me the gift and gave me her blessing to do what I want with my life," she said as quoted by Time. "To be like, 'Okay...you're going to do this and we're going to prove them all wrong,' rather than, you know, making me stay in school. And I'm still educated; I've still got everything I need in life. I thank her every single day."
Williams has praised her mother saying she has been really caring all through her life. She said that her mom has survived worst situations be it a relationship or breast cancer. The actress said that when she learned about her Emmys nomination, she bought a bottle of gin for her mom to thank her for whatever she has done and has been doing for her.
The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live from Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater on ABC Network. It will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on Sept. 18.
