Step aside Tom Hiddleston, Theo James and Aidan Turner. There's a new fan favorite for the coveted role of James Bond. There's a new face in the running, and he may soon be tagged as the "youngest looking" Bond of all time.
The new leader in the polls is Jack Huston. The 34-year-old English actor is topping bets with a 9-4 odds, and his lead is followed by Aidan Turner with 7-2 odds.
"Bond betting is as wide open as it's ever been with five runners and riders at single figure odds," Ladbrokes spokesperson Jessica Bridge told Metro. "Movie bosses are keeping punters on their toes and it wouldn't surprise us if we see a fair few more names thrown into the hat before the big reveal is finally made."
So who is Huston and why should he be the next James Bond? He ranked 74th on TIME's "155 Best Candidates to Become the Next James Bond" list. The scoring is based on the actors on-screen experience on doing Bond-related activities, such as having sex and killing people, as well as other factors such his age and his being British.
Huston appeared in several notable movie titles such as "American Hustle," "The Longest Ride," "Pride, Prejudice and Zombies" and "Hail, Caesar!" He also received praise for his performance as Richard Harrow in the award-winning series "Boardwalk Empire."
However, Huston scored zero in terms of on-screen love making since he hasn't had roles where he had to be intimate with a co-star. Sex scenes are an essential element to all "James Bond" movies, but perhaps that's something Huston can work on if ever he gets cast.
Overall, given Huston's stellar acting performance and ability to fully immerse himself in a character, he can definitely do justice to the coveted 007 mantle.
Not to mention, he's a handsome looking lad, and as seen in "Pride, Prejudice and Zombies," he can be very charming yet cunning at the same time.
Fans will see Huston in the upcoming remake of the classic film "Ben-Hur." He will take on the titular role, while "Fantastic Four" star Toby Kebbell will play his traitorous adopted brother. Also joining the cast is Morgan Freeman as Sheik Ilderim.
