"Game of Thrones" star Nathalie Emmanuel will be the successor of Robert Downey Jr. in "Iron Man 4."

Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark has made the Iron Man mantle a household name ever since he stepped into the red superhero suit in the 2008 film. However, things may change in the rumored "Iron Man 4" film, especially following the developments in the Marvel comic books.

Downey has been going back and forth about his decision to return for "Iron Man 4" film. Although he initially said there's no plan to do another stand-alone film, he changed his tune while promoting "Captain America: Civil War." According to /Film, Downey told ABC's "Nightline" that he feels like he "could do one more."

That puts things in a new perspective, especially since the Marvel Cinematic Universe may go through a massive change after "Avengers: Infinity War."

Moreover, Tony Stark is shifting gears in the "Civil War II" comic books. In the latest narrative, Tony is trying to figure out his identity without the Iron Man suit. He takes a break, and a new figure steps in to continue the Iron Man figure.

TIME reported that this new character is Riri Williams, a science geek who captures Tony's attention when she created her own Iron Man suit in the confines of her dormitory.

"He's also aware that this young woman is flying by him in terms of how quickly she's doing it. Her brain is maybe a little better than his," "Iron Man" creator Brian Michael Bendis revealed about Riri and Tony's first encounter. "She looks at things from a different perspective that makes the armor unique. [Tony] can't help but go maybe I should buy her out."

The idea of Tony Stark facing a serious life crisis in "Iron Man 4" is plausible, and through that arc, Riri Williams may be introduced as his successor. With the possibility of bringing the young female character to the big screen, fans already have a prospect as to who the actress that might bring her to life, and it's none other than "Game of Thrones" star Nathalie Emmanuel.

Emmanuel addressed the issue at Comic Con, where she revealed that she's a huge fan of the "Iron Man" films. "There seems to be this issue of women in technology and science films and things like that, and I think the idea of playing some sort of science whizz that also kicks butt like Iron Man could be fun," Emmanuel said at the event.
