While fans of Song Joong-ki are waiting for the movie version of “Descendants of the Sun” where the character he plays would marry the character played by Song Hye Kyo, they could, for the meantime, visit the filming sites.

The 31-year-old actor is promoting these sites in major locations where the 16-episode was filmed. It includes Taebaek and Jeongseon in Gangwon-do. Song Joong-ki’s new advertisements for Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) were released on Wednesday.

Inquistr reported that the 15-second commercials do not just target “Descendants of the Sun” fans but also overseas tourists who may have viewed the Hallyu in their respective countries. Song Joong-ki entices his followers to once more relive the romantic and action scenes with the line, “Wanna travel Korea with me?”

His promoting the sites is part of the actor’s role as the honorary ambassador for Korean tourism, following the phenomenal success of “Descendants of the Sun” which broke viewer records in South Korea when it was show from late February until mid-April over KBS 2TV and video platform iQiyi in China.

“With Song Joong-ki as the main promotional model and honorary ambassador, he will be taking up the role in promoting Korean tourism actively, worldwide. There are also plans to transform some of the drama filming locations into tourist attractions. The overseas co-promotion with Song Joong-ki is indubitably expected to generate positive results,” KTO said in a statement.

Song Joong-ki would be seen in a new video series and advertising campaign to promote Korean tourism, reported HelloKpop. The video series would begin shooting in two Gangwon province locations.
