Surface Pro 5 has been recently rumored to be launching this 2016, but it seems the device will not come out until March 2017. Instead several other Surface devices have been hinted to launch this year and next year.
Although Microsoft is still mum about the speculations, a photo taken from the tech giant's 88 building has been circulating recently. In a Twitter post by Shubhan Chembukar, the developer shared a picture of what seemed to be a Surface device with a text saying "2017" and "Coming Soon."
A separate report also shared a snap shot of Microsoft's wall installed with placeholders of several Surface devices hinted to come out in 2016 and the year after. It can be recalled that the Surface Pro 4 was unveiled in October 2015, the reason why speculations are rampant that the next iteration would come out in the same month this year, Neuro Gadget reported.
However, the same report said the rumor may not be likely since it has only been 12 months since the last generation was released. Instead, it speculated that Microsoft will push the launching to 2017 due to several reasons.
The report said it is possible the announcement would be made by October 2016, and the device will eventually launch in March 2017. The main purpose of the delay is that Microsoft will be applying the second part of their Windows 10 update, dubbed as Redstone 2, to the upcoming tablet convertible.
In light of the situation, it is most likely the Surface Pro 5 will be coming to market by March next year. This will guarantee a Redstone update is already in place and that the upcoming Kaby Lake processors are utilized, MobiPicker reported.
As of the moment, since minimal details were only revealed, it is expected more information in the future will shed light to the rumors currently circulating online. With this, readers are advised to take everything with a grain of salt as these are still subject for major changes. Confirmation of its release date and specifications may be coming out in the next few months.
