‘2048’ App For Windows Phone: Addictive Math Game Recommended For Bored Passengers

2048

The "2048" app for Windows Phone is one of the best games Techly recommends for passengers who are bored during a long flight or trip along with "Foursquare + Swarm," "Free MP3Box," "Plants vs Zombies," "Angry Birds," "Drawing Pad" and "Akinator."

While it is a math game that requires players to reach 2048 by merging the same numbers like 2s, 4s, 8s and so on, the "2048" game not only addictive but also brainy as well.

In 2014, the 2048 app for Windows Phone was offered free to download and the app was also made to receive daily updates, according to WMPowerUser. The game was created by a 19-year-old freelance UI designer and web developer named Gabriele Cirulli from Italy.

Cirulli said the "2048" game was originally intended as an experiment and he simply wanted to see if he could combine 1024 and another version of the game that he came across within a certain forum.

It took Cirulli a week to work for the experiment before launching "2048" as a small game, and after only another one week, the small game became a hit.

Because the "2048" game is not the first of its kind, Cirulli developed the already existing games similar to "2048" by making the game easier to follow and more entertaining.

Several features have also been added by other coders since the launch of the game. These features include the best score storage added by Tim Petricola and the written custom code by Chris Price, which enables players to play 2048 on touchscreen devices.
