George RR. Martin's most awaited book "The Winds of Winter" will not be released during World Science Fiction Convention this year. After speculations that the book will be unveiled during WorldCon, the author's publishers immediately gave out a statement saying that up until today, it's indefinite when the sixth book of the "Song of Ice and Fire" book series would be released.

According to Christian today, a lot of people have been reaching out to the author's different publication houses. Fans are starting to get a little desperate and have been bombarding the author's publicists in order to hear any updates regarding "The Winds of Winter."

Head of Marketing and Communications for Harper Collins Australia, Jaki Arthur, revealed that there's no chance that Martin would be able to release the "Winds of Winter" in time for the Worldcon. Arthur said that up until today, Martin is still currently working on the book and there's no news if he is just adding some finishing touches, polishing his writing or if he's a few more chapters away from concluding the book.

Arthur also stated that he understands that fans are somehow going crazy about the book because it has been kind of delayed for quite some time, but they also need to understand that writing "The Winds of Winter" is not as easy as it seems. He even commented that "We know George is busy writing it and we will announce the publication date once he finishes. Whenever it comes, it will be a huge publishing event."

In other news, a few days ago, the Game of thrones novel celebrated its 20th anniversary as it has been 20 years since George RR. Martin introduced everyone to the land of Westeros. During the celebration, it was announced that the author would be releasing another novel, but sadly, it is not the book that a lot of fans are expecting.

According to News week, Martin would not be releasing "Winds of Winter" yet, but to commemorate the 20th year milestone of the franchise, the author would be releasing a "special illustrated edition of The Game of Thrones" that is set to be released by October.

It's been a very tough waiting game for all the novel's fans out there, but there will come a time when Martin would be able to finish "The Winds of Winter" and fans could finally discover which of the characters Martin decided to kill off.
