A 'Man of Steel' sequel is in making at Warner Bros

A sequel of "Man of Steel" is being developed by Warner Bros.

A "Man of Steel" sequel is reportedly being developed by DC Cinematic Universe. Released in 2013, "Man of Steel" left fans and critics a bit bemused. The movie was slammed depiction of a Superman played by "The Man from U.N.C.L.E"  star Henry Cavill who was willing to kill, coupled with the character's complete disregard for the huge collateral damage he inflicted.

It appears to be the reason Warner Bros. and DC want to redo doing Superman justice on the silver screen, the Wrap reported. The website claims that a sequel to "Man of Steel" is now in a development phase and that a source close to the project revealed that "Superman is a top priority for the studio and getting the character right for audiences is extremely important."

That makes perfect sense. For Superman is the poster child for DC Comics and an American icon. He is the character who anchors the foundation of the current DC film universe and of course, one of the most powerful superheroes of all time.

Many fans believe that Warner Bros. and DC have misrepresented the character in "Man of Steel" which was a major mistake on their part and that they need to make amends real quick if they wish DC Cinematic Universe to prosper.

There was already a sort-of "Man of Steel" sequel in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which was released this year. The movie featured some scenes straight out of "Man of Steel" and it carried somewhat same themes and storylines which were established by the director Zack Snyder in his DC Cinematic Universe debut. Superman's portrayal in "Batman v Superman" was a little better but it failed to impress a lot many, The Verge reported.

It is likely that the new Superman movie will not get released anytime soon. With two films already scheduled for a release for Warner Bros. DC; one set for Oct. 5, 2018 and the other for Nov. 1, 2019, it looks like the new Superman film will take one of those spots. But we will have to await Warner Bros. and DC to officially announce the project.

"Suicide Squad," the latest film of the studio was released this week. Like its predecessors, it too met with negative reviews, but still managed to do well at box office.
