The latest details for "Injustice 2" will feature new DC characters in the roster and an official announcement at SDCC 2016 event.
NetherRealm Studios aannounced that two DC characters will be revealed on this year's San Diego Comic Con event on July 21-24. The "Injustice 2" panel will feature "Mortal Kombat" creator Ed Boon, New York Times best-selling author Tom Taylor and actors George Newborn, Phil LaMarr and Laura Bailey, who provided the voices behind Superman, Aquaman and Supergirl in th game.
What makes the announcement more exciting is that Boon teased two DC comic book storylines, giving gamers and comic book fans clues as to who these two characters are heading to "Injustice 2". Boon told EPNdotTV that he cited the classic Batman storyline "The Killing Joke" and The Flash storyline "Flashpoint", EventHubs reported.
"The Killing Joke" could feature two characters from the Batman mythos, namely The Joker and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl who were playable characters in the first "Injustice" game, while "Flashpoint" could reveal a number of characters such as The Flash, Reverse-Flash, Cyborg, Shazam, Wonder Woman, Booster Gold etc. since it is a major DC comics story arc.
Captain Gold, Blue Beetle, Swamp Thing and Doctor are some of the characters that Boon teased for "Injustice 2", while fans are also active in pitching their own pick for the sequel citing characters like Black Canary, Vixen, Zoom and even Doctor Manhattan.
Boon added that their might be a guest character in "Injustice 2" as he told old Game Informer that there is a certain novelty into it and there is a certain amount of people who think that when they see a guest character that it took the slot of a DC character that they wanted to have. Boon cited Scorpion's guest appearance in the first "Injustice", which became the most downloaded character of them all, not to mention the popularity of Alien and Predator inn"Mortal Kombat X" which made the game more interesting.
So far, the playable characters present in "Injustcie 2" are Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Supergirl, Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. The sequel will include new armor system that enables gamers to upgrade the appearance and abilities of their chosen DC character as they fight in order to unlock new loots and parts for their armor.
NetherRealm Studios has not yet announced an official release date for "Injustice 2" for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but it is speculated to launch on March 2017.
