Chairman of the Walt Disney Studios Alan Horn presents "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" during the D23 EXPO in 2015.

The new teaser video of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" that was recently released is a fine prelude to the full trailer that debuted on August 12, Thursday.

The 15-second teaser offers a fresh look at some of the lead characters despite being brief in duration. Fans can get a glimpse of Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen), and Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang). There is also the new droid K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) and U-Wing ship.

The teaser has been successful built the hype for the trailer that debuted during the Rio Olympics, IGN reported. It is a treat to watch the fight between Jyn Erso and the AT-ATs. The same holds true for Chirrut Imwe, who can be seen pulverizing some Stormtroopers.

What is more, it has been revealed by director Gareth Edwards that one of the new planets in the movie is a Jedi holy land called Jedha. Edwards explained that the planet is a pilgrimage site for the people who believe in The Force and they go there as a pilgrimage ritual.

Unveiling more details about the same, he said that it is inspired by Middle Eastern locations and possesses Ottoman style architectural structure. It exists much before the Rogue One story starts and is a spiritual place with great significance for the Jedi order. However, when the Empire takes control of the planet, things change.

Edwards further said that Jedha holds something very significant for the Jedi as well as the Rebels. Speculations are rife about it being a source of kyber crystals, the material that is used to build lightsabers. Some also say that the crystals are the power source for Death Star's main weapon too and the Death Troopers are mining for these crystals.

It is worth mentioning here that "Rogue One" is a prequel movie that sheds light on the story of the Rebels and how they got hold of the plans for the Death Star, according to official Star Wars website. Led by Jyn Erso, the Rebels' aim is to destroy the new space station of the Empire.
