Lee Sung-Kyung recently thanked her fans for an astonishing treat they sent to the set of her currently airing SBS's drama, "Doctors." In the drama, the 26-year-old actress plays a neurosurgeon, Jin Seo-Woo, who resent her childhood friend and colleague, Yoo Hye Jung (Park Shin Hye).
On Aug. 12, Friday, the model-turned-actress uploaded a photo of herself on Instagram, standing before the snack cart while showcasing her brilliant smile. She then expressed her gratitude towards her fans who provided snacks for the whole cast and crew of SBS's "Doctors."
Apart from the scrumptious snacks, Lee also received a great deal of birthday gifts from fans. The actress recently turned 26-year-old on Aug. 10, Wednesday.
In the on-going drama, Lee's Jin Seo-Woo have an antagonistic relationship with Yoo Hye Jung. She developed inferiority complex with the latter after witnessing the growing relationship between Hong Ji-Hong (Kim Rae Woon) and Yoo Hye-Jung.
"After growing up with constant love and attention, Jin Seo-Woo changes when she meets Yoo Hye-Jung and develops an inferiority complex and faces other challenges," Lee revealed in a recent interview with Naver TV, referring to her character. "She does not respond to those new feelings through reckless and purely villainous means."
Helmed by PD Oh Choong-Hwan, "Doctors" only have four episodes left. The drama's finale episode is scheduled to air on Aug. 23 at 10:00 PM (KST) on SBS.
Meanwhile, Lee was recently cast for her first leading role in MBC's "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo," alongside "Cheese In The Trap" co-star Nam Joo-Hyuk, 22, Asian Wiki reported. The upcoming drama is inspired by the real-life story of Olympic weightlifting champion, Jang Mi-Ran.
"Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" follows a 20-year-old university student, Kim Book-Joo (Lee), who belongs to the school's weightlifting team. She falls in love for the first time after she meets Jung Joon-Hyung (Nam), who belongs to the school's swimming team.
The upcoming MBC drama will be directed by PD Oh Hyun-Jong based on the script penned by Yang Hee-Seung. "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Book-Joo" will premiere sometime in November.
