"The Flash" Season 3 is all set to return to The CW this fall. Ahead of its premiere, there are rumors that Tom Felton's Julian Dorn may actually be Barry Allen's twin.
After season 2 wrapped up, it became apparent that "The Flash" Season 3 is adapting the "Flashpoint" storyline. In line with that, the speedster drama casts "Harry Potter" alum Tom Felton to play a new character named Julian Dorn, a CSI at the Central City Police Department.
During the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con Felton and his character in the series were officially introduced. In an interview with E! Online, Felton and co-star Grant Austin took the chance to talk about Julian Dorn.
Austin teased that Barry and Julian will not be very friendly towards each other. The actor also hinted that Julian Dorn did not exist before Barry Allen altered the timeline.
Now, with the introduction of Julian comes this theory that he may actually be Barry's twin brother. While it has yet to be revealed whether or not this new character has powers, the said theory further suggests that he might eventually be Cobalt Blue, according to Movie Pilot.
If Barry did not alter the timeline, Cobalt Blue was his twin originally. On the same day Barry and his twin were born, Charlene Thawne's baby died by the doctor's error. To cover up the error, the doctor switched Barry's twin for the dead baby.
From then on, the Allen's thought that Barry's twin was still born. Cobalt Blue was named Malcolm and grew up with the Thawnes. Adult Malcolm Thawne eventually discovers what the doctor had done and ends up killing the doctor.
This supports what Felton had recently had said about his character. He said that Julian Dorn has a villainous nature. This villainous nature is now being linked to the fact the Barry had screwed up a lot of things when he got back in time to save his mother.
It should be noted that even if the creators of "The Flash" TV series will be following the "Flashpoint" arc in the comics, the writers might make a few changes here and there. Thus, there are equal chances that Felton's Julian Dorn may or may not be Barry Allen's twin brother.
