YG new girl group BLACKPINK finally debuted and held their first music show performance at Inkigayo on Aug. 14.

The performance was well-received by fans and Kpop lovers. However, the debut of the girls prompted old rumors that YG Entertainment is disbanding its original female group 2NE1. The rumor is nothing new as it has been hung in the air since the departure of maknae Gong Minzy.

Although YG previously said that he will not disband 2NE1, it seemed that a comeback is not happening anytime soon. While Minzy is now comfortable in her new label, the remaining three members under YG are in pursuit of their individual careers.

While Park Bom is still away from the spotlight due to her drug smuggling scandal, CL is currently busy in her performances worldwide. She will perform in Jakarta, Indonesia next. Dara, on the other hand, is busy with her TV appearances. She reportedly bagged a big project in the Philippines as a judge of a reality show and was also casted for her first lead role in a movie.

In addition, 2NE1's main producer Teddy is also the producer of BLACKPINK. Thus, he is busy with the promotion of the current girl group.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK debut on Aug. 8 by dropping two music videos - "BOOMBAYAH" and "Whistle" that received an all-kill status in various music charts. The group is set to release six more songs as part of their debut.

As the new girl group is gaining steam, the profile of each member is gaining attention from the media and netizens. YG Entertainment has officially revealed the members of BLACKPINK - Jennie Kim, Lalisa Manoban, Kim Jisoo, and Park Roseanne.
