'Married at First Sight' recap: Tom insults Lilian, says she is 'materialistic'; Derek and Heather also in hot water

"Married At First Sight" airs every Tuesday night.

Tom Wilson, 28, and Lilian Vilchez, 24, who recently tied the knot in the series and consummated their marriage not long after, were in a heated argument after the former implied his new wife is being materialistic. The situation may also be the same for Derek and Heather as the sneak peek previewed how the couple argued over the former's smoking habits.

Wilson has been considering to tell his wife about him living in a bus. When the couple had a chance to talk about their individual personalities just hours after making love, the yacht interior specialist opted to indirectly state his situation by describing himself as a "truly minimalist" person, Daily Mail reported.

Puzzled by his statement, Vilchez asked her husband to expound on it, to which the latter explained that "A lot of people want to have things that they think make them happy like a really super nice car." This had insulted the realtor since her husband already saw her driving a car.

"He knows the car I drive. He saw it at brunch," Vilchez told the cameras. She added that Wilson is putting her in the category for saying such statement.

The 24-year old participant told the show it is required of her job to own a new car, explaining people may not purchase a new condo from her if she is driving a "2003" vehicle. The report also added how the Miami realtor said that she has worked for everything she has earned, and it is not fair for her husband to conclude such things.

Meanwhile, another couple in the show is also in hot water. Derek Schwartz and Heather Seidel are also arguing over the former's smoking habits. During their honey moon in Puerto Rico, Seidel already expressed that her husband's smoking is a huge concern for her.

She added Schwartz has been doing it every single day they are together which has become a red flag for her, US Magazine reported. On the other hand, Schwartz defended his habit by saying being alcoholic is worse, to which his wife said she does not get up and drink in the morning.
