'W - Two World' star Lee Jong Suk nabs serial killer role in upcoming 'VIP' movie

'W' is a 2016 South Korean television series, starring Lee Jong-Suk and Han Hyo-Joo.

"W - Two World" actor Lee Jong Suk will take people's lives in his upcoming movie. Latest reports claimed that the 26-year-old Hallyu star nabs a serial killer role in "VIP," an upcoming espionage thriller film to be directed by Park Hoon-Jung.

Lee is slated to play the son of a high-ranking North Korean official, Gwang-Il, who is suspected of committing serial murders around the globe. Thus, inciting a heart-stopping chase involving officials from South Korea, North Korea, and Interpol.

"Lee is certain to appear on 'VIP," YG Entertainment said in a statement obtained by The Kpop Herald. "He will be a far-out devilish character."

Korean top actors Kim Myung Min (Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island) and Park Hee Soon (Seven Days) are also set to star in the upcoming film. "A Gentleman's Dignity" actor Jang Dong-Gun has also received an offer to play the main character.

"Jang, who recently came back to Korea after shooting for a drama in China, decided to work with filmmaker Park Hoon-Jung," a source from the movie industry told the Korea Joongang Daily. "One the audition for casting for new celebrities has been completed, the shooting for the movie will begin."

With an intended released in early 2017, the shooting for the "VIP" movie is expected to begin in October. More details about the project will be revealed soon.

Lee is known for consistently challenging himself with various roles. He is best known for playing opposite Park Bo-Young in 2014's "Hot Young Bloods" and has starred in Jo Yong-Sun's "No Breathing."

Currently, Lee stars in the popular Wednesday-Thursday drama, "W - Two Worlds," alongside Han Hyo-Joo. In the on-going fantasy drama, the actor plays Kang Chul, an anecdotal character in the popular comic series.

Helmed by PD Jung Dae Yoon, "W - Two Worlds" follows a suspense love story happens between the reality and the virtual universe. Other casts include Jeong Eu-Gene, Lee Tae-Hwan, Park Won-Sang, Cha Kwang-Soo, Kim Eui-Sung, Lee Si-Un, Nam Gi-Ae and Heo Jung-Do.
